Pool maintenance
Your swimming pool needs regular care and maintenance to keep it in clean, clear and safe for your family and your guests. Proper pool maintenance is an essential part of property management here in Spain, especially for property owners who do not live here all year round.
Your pool needs to be cared for properly to combat the effects of:
- The weather. Heavy rain, dust, wind and the sun all impact on the clarity of the water
- The swimmers. When we swim, we introduce contaminants such as sun lotion, sweat, oils and occasionally even urine into the water!
- Debris. Leaves insects, skin cells, hair, twigs, dust, stones... you name it, and it will somehow find a way to get into your pool.
Our pool cleaners will ensure that your pool is kept in good condition, meaning that you can just sit back, relax and enjoy your pool.
Our cleaning operators are generally in the property for less than an hour, meaning that any inconvenience to you and your guests is kept to a minimum.
A complete record of all water testing and maintenance tasks is kept for every pool, and we can send you a copy for your records.
We offer pool cleaning and maintenance services to suit all sizes of pools and budgets, from an individual pre-summer clean to annual maintenance packages. If you don´t see a package to suit your needs, please contact us to discuss your exact requirements.
Pool Maintenance Schedule
- Check water level and top up as necessary
- Test ph levels (should be between 7.2 and 7.6 for maximum chlorine efficiency). These ideal levels also reflect the ph balance of the human eye, explaining why any imbalance of the ph level causes discomfort for the swimmer.
- Make any adjustments to ph levels as required
- Check and maintain free chlorine levels (ideally between 2 to 3 parts per million) to ensure sanitiser levels correct
- Skim the surface of the pool with a pool net
- Brush the side walls of the pool
- Clean around the immediate pool surround
- Empty the skimmer baskets
- Vacuum debris and dirt from the bottom of the pool
- Clean or backwash the filter on a regular basis
- Addition of algaecide 3 times per year
- Completion of your pool check sheet, and advise of any problems
Additional treatment may be needed after heavy rain, “red” rain, or adverse weather conditions. Prior to taking out an annual contract, we will visit your pool to assess the condition of the pool, and determine whether any shock treatment is required to get pool conditions back to normal. Shock treatment incurs an additional cost.
Please contact us for up to date prices for both annual contracts and one-off cleans, depending on the location of your rental home.
For monthly and annual contracts, pools will be cleaned twice per week in July and August, once per week in May, June, September and October, and fortnightly throughout the winter.
The cost of all chemicals and testing materials is included in the prices.
Annual packages can be paid for in four quarterly instalments, at no additional cost.
Annual packages paid for in full will receive a free floating pool thermometer.
