Christmas is almost upon us, and the medieval markets and craft fairs are in full swing, enticing us to part with our hard earned cash.

November was a wet month here, but December so far has been cold and crisp. There has even been a very light dusting of snow on the tops of the Sierra Espuñas! Daytime temperatures hover around the low teens, but the nights are getting chilly, and the smell of woodsmoke from all the open fires and log burners is hanging in the evening air.

Many towns are getting ready for their seasonal fiestas, and the schools will take a break from the 8th to the 10th December. After that, Christmas day will be upon us.
